Pett Road Roadworks – Shuttle Bus Arrangements

Please see the information below received from East Sussex Transport Team:

Fairlight area:

It will be possible to divert journeys on main service 101 heading toward Rye via Fairlight/Fairlight Cove. Thus, the journeys from Hastings and to Rye will not require a change of buses.

For return journeys from Rye, passengers should catch the 101 shuttle bus which runs via Winchelsea Beach and the A259 to terminate at Fairlight Road, Ore. A connection will be available from the same stop to Fairlight/Fairlight Cove.

For journeys to Hastings, passengers should catch a service 101 journey from Fairlight Cove/Fairlight and alight at the Co-op stop at Ore from where a connection to Hastings Town Centre is available on service 20.

An attachment shows the details of the journeys for these communities.

Winchelsea Beach:

The arrangements for journeys to/from Rye are simple with a shuttle bus providing journeys in both directions.

For journeys to Hastings, passengers should board a shuttle bus service heading to Ore village. They should alight at The Hastings Academy stop in Rye Road, Ore. This is the old “Kings Head” stop. They should then cross the road to catch a 22A service in to town.

For journeys back from Hastings town centre, passengers should catch a service 100 journey and alight at the ‘Strand House’ stop at Winchelsea. They will then need to cross to the ‘Royal Military Road’ stop on Sea Road where the 101 shuttle bus coming through from Rye will convey them on to Winchelsea Beach.
