A259 Monk’s Walk, Winchelsea – overnight closures for resurfacing Monday 11 to Friday 22 September

The Parish Council have received the following message from National Highways:-

We’ll soon be carrying out essential resurfacing work on the A259 close to Monk’s Walk, Winchelsea. We’re also going to take the opportunity to make improvements to the surface to reduce the risk of skidding, and repaint markings and speed limits on the road.

Closure information

The A259 will be closed between Winchelsea Lodge and the junction with St Giles Close weeknights, from 8pm to 6am the following morning, from Monday 11 September to Friday 22 September.

During the closures a diversion will be in place going in both directions via the B2093, A28, A268, Skinners Roundabout, A259 and Station Road.

This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress.

Access for businesses and residents

An escort will be provided for businesses and residents with direct access off the A259 within the closure, please approach the closure point. There may be a short wait while we make it safe for you to pass.

We’ll make every effort to keep noise impact to a minimum, but apologise in advance for any disturbance experienced.
